Shane Black reboots Predator!

So Shane Black who played Hawkins in Predator has stated that he will direct a Predator Reboot. My question is why. Predators was awesome...not prefect but fresh and exciting enough to lend intrest to a new generation. Granted Black was an awesome director for Lethal Weapon in the hay day of 80's action.
My other issue is Fredd Dekker. Dont get me wrong Dekker done some wicked comedy Horror in both The Monster Squad and Night of the Creeps but look at Robocop 3. Would it really be wise for him to write another sci-fi action movie?

Its still early day but I dont think Black should completely reboot the franchise. Do a follow up sure but lets not throw the baby out with the bath water folks.
